Paint Application on Crude Plaster
Firstly, plaster surface should be prepared for the paint. For preparation, score tapes should be sticked on the surface and pulled off. If there is a thick sand or cement grout on the tape, the plaster has an elastic texture. In this case plaster should be wiped with a dry brush and this layer is removed.
When the surface is painted before this application is very, plaster grains would leave from the surface by fraction or colliding and besides the dirty appearance, different color tones or separations from the surface can be seen on these areas for the fact that paint couldn’t form enough film. After the cleaning application of the surface, for the interior walls; Kardelen transparent priming coat should be applied thinned at rate of ¼ as one coat and finally one of our water based paints should be applied as two coats, for the exterior walls; Kardelen facade wall priming coat should be applied and one of our finishing coat paints applied as two coats. Matte paints should be preferred on crude plastered surfaces.
As silk matte or semi-matte paints are glossier than matte paints, plaster would show its errors more clearly.
Applying Paint on Gross Concrete Surfaces
As we know, gross concrete bars are greased to separate easily from the concrete. Water is spread on the surface to decide whether grease is left on the gross concrete. If water is remained as drops on the surface, there is grease. Grease of the bar is removed by washing the surface with the warm water and yellow soap. After the surface is completely dried; Kardelen transparent foun-color priming coat thinned at the rate of ¼ is applied, then one of our water based paint is applied as two coats for interior wall surfaces; as for exterior wall surfaces. After the Kardelen facade wall priming coat is applied, one of our finishing coats facade wall paints can be used as two coats.
Applying Paint on Lime Whitewashed Surfaces
Lime is a material that we certainly not recommend. This wrong application of covering the surface with lime as priming coat is still common in our country.
On surfaces covered with lime; Kardelen transparent foun-color priming coat, thinned at the rate of ¼ is applied, then one of our water based paint is applied as two coats for interior wall surfaces; as for exterior wall surfaces, after the Kardelen facade wall priming coat is applied, one of our finishing coats facade wall paints can be used as two coats.
Applying Water-Based Paint on Surfaces with Old Water-Based Paint
One coat of plastic paint on the fixes made on the surface covers the appearance of fixing. A couple of coats should be applied especially on the fixes with tile sealants. If there is areas that has been absorbed water and turned yellowish or fumed, Kardelen fume and stain covering priming coat should be applied as one coat. For a more proper paint, the surface should be sanded, if it is formerly painted with a water based satin paint or silk silicone paint. After the priming preparations are over; Kardelen transparent foun-color priming coat, thinned at the rate of ¼ is applied, then one of our water based paint is applied as two coats for interior wall surfaces; as for exterior wall surfaces, after the Kardelen facade wall or transparent foun-color priming coat is applied, one of our finishing coats facade wall paints can be used as two coats.
Applying Paint on Satin Plastered Surfaces
As satin plaster is a dust emitting and absorbing material, before applying paint and mastic on these surfaces, it should be covered with an appropriate priming coat.
Kardelen transparent foun-color priming coat, thinned at rate of ¼, should be applied as one coat and one of our water-based finishing coats should be applied as two coats. If a synthetic paint is to be applied, Kardelen synthetic priming coat is applied on satin plaster priming coat. Afterwards, Kardelen semi-matte synthetic paint is applied as two coats and 24 hours of break should be given between coats.
Applying Paint on Iron Surfaces
Iron surfaces, reacting with the oxygen in the air, are rusted and corroded in time. To avoid this situation, Kardelen or Aura anti-rust is applied on iron surfaces before the paint to prevent corrosion. Afterwards, two coats of synthetic paint are applied by giving a break between coats for 24 hours. When painting a formerly painted iron surface, rusted areas should be sanded and painted with anti-rust. After 24 hours, synthetic paint can be applied.
Necessary Applications on Fumed and Stained Surfaces
To get rid of stains like pencil, fume, oil, nicotine, fire prints and soot any of the painting systems can’t provide enough performance. After some time, all of the stains come out bleeding. A product should be applied to block these stains and prevent them from bleeding again. Kardelen fume and stain covering priming coat is a product formulized for these kinds of surfaces. One coat of application can clear away this problem and you can apply any paint on.
