Blue and Tones

Blue has a lot of meanings. First of all, blue is a calming and relaxing color (like a blue sky or sea). Firms wanting to raise this effect on their customers (generally baby products, spa centers and pharmaceutical firms) prefer this color. Blue also stands for trustfulness, honesty and quality. This being the case, if you use blue and its tones, you would give your guests this ambience. Another feature (and certainly the best) of the blue is that it kills appetite. In a living room or bedroom that is decorated with blue, you cannot possibly go into a hunger crisis. Interestingly, Arabs believe that blue slows down the blood supply.

The ‘Nazar’ bead is believed to be blue because of this reason. Also, it is noted that in schools with blue walls, children are milder and well-behaved.

Green and Tones

Another color from the nature is green. Green and its tones may be as calming and relaxing as blue. They remind us of trees and fields. Besides, green is noted as the easiest and most beautiful color to be comprehended by human eye.

As some claim, our heart is under the influence of green’s energy area. Green, being the color of nature and spring, is the color of trust. Also, it is proven that people living in green decorated places suffer less from stomach sicknesses.

Purple and Tones

If there is an hierarchy of nobility between the colors, purple and its tones would be at the top. Purple stands for wisdom, sympathy, honor and nobility. It is considered as the top rank of the glorious and luxury since the old centuries. As the history books describe, high classes, palace companions and royalty wore purple.

Purple also reveals neurotic feelings and stands for subconscious. And it should be mentioned that, suicidal people’s favourite color is purple.

Red and Tones

If you like this color, watch out! No matter how much it seems like a nice and attractive color, it makes people angry, restless and hungry. Remember the fast food restaurants make you want to eat more and more, their biggest common feature is their red logos. Did you know that, besides evoking vividness and dynamism, it stands for happiness? If you want to use red on your room walls, the person to see would think that you are a physically active, vibrant and emotionally decisive, stubborn person.

Do not forget it whets your appetite, raises your blood pressure and fastens your blood supply. If you use red along with black or grey, the appearance would be sophisticated.

Yellow and Tones

Yellow is sunny, fruity and careful! It is determined that the most noticed notes are written in black on yellow.

It also stands for cleverness, kindness and practicality. On the other hand it could be count as the color of sorrow and yearning. If you decorate your room in yellow, you should be careful not to use too much and try to associate it with contrast colors.

Orange and Tones

Orange is a hypnotizing color. Researchers stated that, orange accelerates cerebral activity and increases creativity. As it is a color attracts attention, children become interested in easily.

Painting a child’s room in orange makes him/her more creative and active.

Black and Tones

Black is the most elite color. It is modern but retro at the same time and preferred by high class people. It stands for power and passion, being mysterious and serious. It becomes extremely eye catching when used along with white.

However, it symbolizes emotionality and sorrow, too. Interestingly, black stands for mourning in Turkey and Europe, it is happiness in Japan. If it is used as a background, black evokes pessimism. Einstein preferred rooms with black curtains, without daylight to concentrate.

Painting is in fact a matter of taste and accessory. It is the makeup of our homes, rooms. We can all have different tastes and choices. Actually, the colors bringing us peace and happiness are what matters. Generally, we can say that using light colors on little rooms, bathrooms and toilets helps them look more spacious, using red and orange on kitchens would provide an energetic and enjoyable environment, and colors like light blue, green and pastel tones are suitable for bedrooms. You can prefer different colors for each room, as you can prefer just one color for all. We should state that, using different colors can be more costly, even if you choose different packs. And choosing light colors on a dark color would cost more effort for painters. Choosing the color with your taste would be the best preference.
